Located 27 miles northeast of downtown Austin, Texas, Das Winkler Haus is located on half an acre in the historic town of Hutto. Das Winkler Haus offers the setting and hospitality of yesteryear. The historic Victorian home was built in 1890 by the Swedish banker, Harry Mauritz, when Hutto was a thriving center for the cotton industry. Das Winkler Haus is available for special events and offers two spacious bedrooms for overnight guests. |

About the Owners: The owners are a mother and daughter team. Florence Winkler is the eldest of 8 children and grew up on a farm in central Texas. She and her late husband George, raised seven children and lived in Hong Kong for 15 years. Sarah Winkler Jones is the youngest of the seven children. Das Winkler Haus is named in honor of George Winkler whose heritage, along with Florence's is German.
